Book Discussions

Consider yourself invited to the library’s discussions of GVSU’s 2010 Community Read, Three Cups of Tea.

  • Allendale: 2/18 at 5 pm in 305 JHZ
  • Downtown: 2/24 at 12 pm at the University Club

Students, faculty and staff are all encouraged to participate.  In the meantime, check out our CRP libguide.

Glass Castle discussion at Steelcase

Join a discussion of this year’s GVSU Community Reading Project, The Glass Castle, at the Steelcase Library from 5 to 6 p.m. on Monday, February 18.

Other library-sponsored discussions will take place at the Zumberge Library’s Cafe Bibliotheque on Wednesday, February 13 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Wednesday, February 20 from 5 to 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served at the Steelcase Library event. Liz Borgwardt at Cook-DeWitt, Jan. 30

Liz Borgwardt, the award-winning author of A New Deal for the World: America’s Vision for Human Rights, will lecture on “Historical Perspectives on Human Rights and International Justice,” on Weds., 30 January, in Cook-DeWitt at 4:30 pm. (Liz is currently working on the Nuremberg trials). This presentation is sponsored by the Honors College.

University Libraries Support the Community Reading Program

The University Libraries are supporting the Community Reading Project. The book The Kite Runner is available at the circulation desks of the Zumberge, Steelcase, Frey and Holland libraries for checkout. In addition, the libraries will be hosting book discussions on February 20 and March 13 at 4:30 in Zumberge Library’s Cafe Bibliotheque.
